Many women find that the standard size breastshield that comes with all Medela breastpumps and kits is not quite the right size for their breasts. If you experience pain while pumping or if you notice only the tip of your nipple being drawn into the shield, you may need a larger shield, with a larger tunnel diameter. If too much of your breast is drawn into the shield you might need a small breastshield.
