The mattresses have a Polyethylene waterproof coating and feature waterproof edges and heat sealed waterproof seams which keeps moisture and dust mites out. Polyethylene is an environmentally friendly plastic used throughout the food packaging industry and is known for it's non-toxic properties.
On the inside they are constructed of only the best materials as well--organic cotton filling that is unbleached, undyed and grown without synthetic pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers.
Plus, Naturepedic® Organic Crib Mattresses are hypoallergenic and comply with the Consumer Product Safety Commission firmness recommendations. They have heavy-duty orthopedic innersprings.
