Judy Herrigel RN IBCLC has been helping mothers and babies to breastfeed since 1978, when she received a
bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Seattle University. Judy was one of the original lactation consultants when the
Childbirth Education Association of Seattle inaugurated its groundbreaking breastfeeding services in the 1980’s—offering free telephone counseling provided by RN lactation consultants.
In the 1990’s she developed the
First Weeks program at
Community Birth and Family Center. She became an
International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 1994. Now a lactation consultant with the
Breastfeeding Services of Birth and Beyond, her work with mothers and children in hospital, clinic and home settings gives her a unique perspective when working with breastfeeding parents after they are home with their babies.
In her spare time Judy enjoys playing the piano, singing in a choir and being an active grandmother.
