Hygiene Needs of the Uncircumcised Boy ($10/adult)
Parents who choose to leave their son uncircumcised will be delighted to hear that, despite folklore to the contrary, genital hygiene for a boy is remarkably simple. But, at the same time, parents need to be on guard for daycare providers, well-meaning grandmothers, and doctors and nurses who might 'forcibly retract' the immature foreskin of their baby boy for 'cleaning'.
In this workshop we will review the history and reasoning behind this obsolete medical practice. We'll debunk Victorian myths, and show you how you can follow the modern way: “Only Clean What is Seen!” We will also address common, minor, foreskin worries and the easy solutions to each.
Parents will walk away well-armed to manage, and even educate, caregivers (family, daycare providers) and those medical professionals who have not yet abandoned the practice of PFFR (Premature Forcible Foreskin Retraction).
